The City of Pickens Grounds Maintenance Department was established in 2007. In order to increase productivity for new and future expansion of park and recreation facilities, existing staff was transferred to Superintendent, Lee Beacham.
Lee and staff members Danny Adams and Ervin Whitmire are responsible for all landscaping care and implementation including City Hall, the Main Street Streetscape, City welcome signs, and the Senior Center. As opportunities to increase the beauty and appeal of The City of Pickens become available, we are prepared to help.
An important role for this department is maintaining and improving our City Parks and Recreation facilities. Thirty acres for family recreation and sports include:
- Seven lighted sports fields
- Recreation Center
- Picnic shelters
- Walking trails
- Tennis courts
The Grounds Maintenance Department is committed in making sure all of our parks and grounds are prepared for safe and enjoyable public use every day.
