Government

The City of Pickens operates under the Council form of government with the governing body composed of an elected Mayor and six council members. The mayor and council members serve staggered four year terms. An Administrator is appointed by the governing body to serve as the chief administrative officer of the City. Departments of the City provide a full range of municipal services such as public safety (police and fire), highways and streets, sanitation, culture-recreation, public improvements, planning, and general administrative services.

City Administrator: Katherine Hendricks was appointed City Administrator of the City in September 2009. Before becoming City Administrator, Ms. Hendricks was the Assistant City Administrator for six months prior to being promoted.  She received her Master’s in Public Administration from Clemson University. Email: khendricks@pickenscity.com
